In an article for the “Yearbook Digital Transformation 2018” that has just been released by the specialist publisher F.A.Z., TMG Managing Directors Klaus Dieterich and Darya Nassehi explain why the advancing digitalization forces companies in the manufacturing industry to make far-reaching organizational adjustments and create new forms of cross-functional cooperation and what companies must do to fully exploit the potential of Industry 4.0.

 

According to TMG experts, adjustments and interventions in almost all organizational areas of a company are necessary in order to make optimal use of the opportunities offered by digitalization.

“The spectrum of possible Industry 4.0 implications for the organization ranges from adaptations of the organizational structure to new competence and collaboration requirements, through to a new understanding of leadership and the promotion of agile thinking and acting.”, says Mr. Nassehi. “Every company is required to examine its own organizational maturity and to evaluate which structural, process-related and cultural changes will achieve one’s corporate goals.”
